@quad ladies and gentlemen, the void linux motto
@quad are you in the part of the day where you use windows
@quad also, why does the docker image of void come with neofetch

@howl Oh no, it doesn't. I just keep a void container running because WSL is junk

@Sasha @quad nah i actually run debian. but quad running void has become a meme

@howl @Sasha Debian unstable then I hope?

@quad @howl I'm sure you could install runit to replace systemd. That way everyone wins ! 😁

@Sasha @howl Of course you could if you try hard enough. But you would need to write every single runitscript yourself because Debian packages don't contain that.

Same issue Artix has atm. It's Arch without systemd, but they're still lacking a fair share of init scripts

@quad @howl Ooh I didn't know about artix. That might be a little nicer to run than Arch. I'm currently getting rid of Arch, only one box left, but I'm still lacking some confidence with per-user runit sub-instances and jackd.

@Sasha @howl Problem with Artix is that it's very tiny. Heck I'm not even sure if the live images are updated, you need to change to their new mirrors before the install even works because nobody seems to have bothered updating the live images. And like mentioned earlier there's a distinct lack of init scripts. I don't even think there's an init script for lightdm, at least not the last time I checked.

It's promising, but too much of a pain in the ass to run at its current stage imo

@howl @Sasha i cringe when i see people run stable for desktop use. i wouldn't be able to survive

@quad @Sasha i initially installed buster, which is debian testing now. a week later i said fuck that and changed my repos

@quad @howl @Sasha It's not even a desktop OS according to the devs I've talked at IRC lol, it's pretty much unusable for me due to its servere lack of matureness

@espectalll @Sasha @howl I don't doubt it tbh. They have to filter out all the systemd crap from Debian with a much smaller team.

Devuan Stable is fine though. But frankly I wouldn't trust Ceres with anything. I only run Ascii when I need more recent versions of stuff since it'll probably be frozen in like a year anyways.

@Sasha @howl @quad Well, not loonix, but i have seen windows 2000 machines still in use in 2018

@quad are you suggesting to go more ahem... "barebones"?

@dirb systemctl start systemd-suicided

@quad @angristan It's fun when you are young, but later it gets boring.
